Colleagues pay tribute to Mamoepa

Colleagues have paid tribute to fallen communicator Ronnie Mamoepa at his memorial service in Pretoria. He passed away on Saturday night of July 22, 2017 at a Centurion hospital aged 56 years old leaving behind his wife and children. Ronnie Mamoepa , at the time of his death, was a spokesman for the deputy president of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa.

“I came to know him well when I worked with him for over a decade. When he got to Home Affairs it was called by the public ‘Horror Affairs’. I said to Ronnie, ‘Ronnie lets go to Home Affairs and he asked, ‘Minister, what am I going to say? IDs every day?’,” Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma described Ronnie Mamoepa.

“Ronnie had a different character as a manager. Though it looked like he was playful, he understood clearly what was his responsibility as a manager,” Home Affairs Director General Mkhuseli Apleni said.

“Sedulous, efficient, productive, committed, diligent, industrious, assiduous, tireless these are the few words that describe Ronnie Mamoepa’s attitude towards work and duty,” Communications Minister Ayanda Dlodlo said.
